Another day, another Adele rumor. Amid reports that the NFL is hoping to have Adele perform at the next Super Bowl, word is spreading that the “Hello” singer is planning to record an album with music icon Barbra Streisand.
The two powerhouse voices supposedly met in Los Angeles ahead of Adele’s six-show run at the Staples Center with Columbia Records execs to discuss a possible collaboration. According to U.K’s Daily Star Sunday, the duo talked about doing a duet album in the same vein of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett’s Cheek to Cheek.
“This could easily become one of the most important and lucrative collaborations in modern music history. And they are both very much up for it,” an industry insider told the publication. “Despite the huge gulf in age and their different genres, both have said they would love to get together in the studio and record a duets album.”
